April's independent viewer ratings for Pulelehua TV Digital Television are in! With almost ten percent monthly growth and totaling more than 32,000 viewers of Digital Hawaii Community Television Programs, with an average of more than 1000 viewers a day, Hawaii's Community Television viewers on Oahu, Maui, Molokai and Hawaii's other Islands and abroad have made Pulelehua TV Digital Television the most watched community television in Hawaii by an order of magnitude. With approximately ten times the viewership compared to the State of Hawai'i owned analog PEG Access Channels including Akaku: Maui Community Television, Olelo on Oahu, as well as the other PEG Access Providers on the other Islands, according to cable access viewership statistics collected and published by the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs.
For comparison, Statistics collected on O'ahu justifying Olelo's Sixth Channel, show a viewership of less than 200 people a day watching Olelo's Public Access Channels on Oahu.
Unlike "reach" which is how many households are connected to the cable and includes televisions that are off and incessantly repeating promotional loops, and does not at all account for the number of people actually watching, Maui Media Lab's Pulelehua TV viewers are actual live viewers watching actual community television programs. While our "reach" is the BILLIONS of potential viewers over the Internet, we are proud to serve the 32,000 Pulelehua TV viewers that have chosen to watch Hawaii Community Television using Maui's very own, Community Owned, Home Grown, Digital Community Television Services.
